Terrapin Tech and the IT Service Desk will be closed Sunday, April 17.

Changes to UMD Password Policies

Beginning on April 11, 2022, the University of Maryland’s Directory password requirements will change.

Scheduled Outage of IT Services April 3

On Sunday, April 3, 2022 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., DIT will be performing an upgrade to the core database servers causing many services to be unavailable.

Scheduled Network Outages for UMD Buildings Spring 2022

Through the Spring 2022 semester, there will be a scheduled outage for each campus building when it will lose network connectivity for 15-20 minutes while building network connections are upgraded.

Spring Break 2022 Service Modifications

DIT offices will be closed March 21-22 for Spring Break. There will also be additional planned outages March 20-25.

Network Aggregation Refresh Project

Overview

The current campus network aggregation switches are at or nearing their vendor end of support. Moreover, all of the current network switches are relatively low-performance, and cannot support current/future network technologies.
