New System for UMD Account Management
On August 10, 2026, UMD will launch a new account management platform for self-service account management functions such as activating new accounts, changing passphrases, and updating MFA settings. August 6-10, updates to UMD account information will be delayed, and UMD community members will not be able to create new DUO MFA bypass codes or register new hardware tokens.
New Network Security Certificate May Affect eduroam Connections
On July 16, DIT updated the security certificate for the university wired and wireless networks. This means that university community members may need to install the new certificate on personally owned devices before they will connect to eduroam the next time.
June 2026 Service Modifications
Division of IT offices will be closed Friday, June 19, 2026 in observance of Juneteenth. Additional June service modifications are listed.
Canvas Outage
Instructure, the company that owns and manages Canvas, was recently compromised. This incident affects all institutions that use Canvas. This page is being updated with more information as it becomes available.
