Cybersecurity Month Reminders for Faculty/Staff
As we near the close of Cybersecurity Month (October), we’d like to offer faculty and staff a few reminders of cybersecurity best practices at UMD.
Recent Scam Emails to UMD Students from Impersonators
Students have reported receiving email messages to their TERPmail and personal email addresses that appear to have been sent by faculty members at UMD. These messages have been forged to impersonate someone at the university, they were not sent by the person they claim to be from, and the job offer is a scam.
IT Support Services and Campus Information Closing Early September 15
Terrapin Tech, Campus Information Services, and the IT Service Desk will close early September 15.
New eduroam Security Certificate
This summer, DIT updated the security certificate for the eduroam wireless network. This means that you may need to install the new certificate on your devices before they connect to eduroam the next time.
Labor Day 2023 Holiday Service Hours
DIT offices will be closed Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Eduroam Update on August 17
On Thursday, August 17 between 4 and 7 a.m., DIT will update the security certificate for the eduroam wireless network. For the smoothest transition, before August 17, please go to setup.wireless.umd.edu.
