Claude for Enterprise is available at UMD for faculty, staff, and researchers.
Departments can use the Claude License Request form to request Standard seats for their users or change existing ones. Units will cover the cost of their own seats. Premium licenses will follow the week of November 2.
Both tiers come with the same Claude models, the same tools (Chat, Projects, Cowork, and Claude Code), and UMD’s SSO, administration, and data protections. They differ only in how much usage they provide.
- Standard, $20 per seat per month - The right fit for most people, with about 2.5 times the usage of Anthropic’s individual Pro plan.
- Premium, $55 per seat per month - Meant for heavy users, such as people running long Claude Code sessions or extended agentic work in Cowork. It includes about five times the usage of Standard.

Claude is approved for data classified up to Level 3 - High risk, and UMD's AI-use guidelines apply.
