  • Changes to UMD Student Email Environment

    During the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters, the university is making some changes to the student email environment to ensure that the TERPmail and UMD Gmail systems are used for official communications to undergraduate and graduate students. These changes will prevent situations that have occurred in the past where university information was not delivered to some students who had their university email delivered to inactive non-university accounts.

  • Winter Break 2021 Service Modifications

    DIT offices will be closed Thursday, December 23 through Sunday, January 2. Additional service modifications (including some for finals week) are listed.

  • Thanksgiving 2021 Service Hours

    Division of IT offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday, November 24-26 for the university's Thanksgiving break. Some will also have adjusted hours earlier in the week.

  • Privacy Policy Virtual Information and Listening Sessions

    The University of Maryland is developing a new data privacy policy to establish clear principles and expectations related to the appropriate use of university community members’ data. The IT Council of the University Senate is interested in student, faculty, and staff feedback before finalizing the policy. You’re invited to attend a virtual information and listening session to provide your input and have your questions answered.   • Scheduled Network Testing July 25

    On Sunday, July 25, 2021 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., the Division of Information Technology will conduct a series of disaster recovery tests focusing on core portions of the network. The State Office of Legislative Audits requires that disaster recovery planning and testing be conducted annually. Conducting such tests is essential to ensuring that IT services can withstand failure large and small.
