Scheduled Outage of IT Services March 16, 2026
On Monday, March 16, 2026 between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m., DIT will conduct a set of disaster recovery network resiliency tests that could cause intermittent service interruptions.
Default Retention Time for Chat Tools
Effective January 26, 2026, the default retention time for UMD-supported chat tools will be reduced to 24 hours in most cases.
Updates to UMD ePortfolios: Portfolium Decommission
Portfolium and Canvas ePortfolio will be removed and replaced with a new tool called Canvas Portfolio in 2026.
Updates to Panopto Retention and Deletion Settings
At the end of 2025, UMD Panopto settings will be updated to remove archived content that hasn't been viewed for three years.
OnGuard Network Tool Deployment Coming Soon
As part of the Campus Network Refresh Initiative, DIT will roll out a new tool called OnGuard to all university-managed computers.
