New University Data Privacy Policy
The university has a new Data Privacy Policy (Policy X-15.00(A)), which was approved by the University Senate and signed by President Pines at the end of December. The policy sets out the principles by which UMD interacts with individuals' data and the expectations that individuals can have in how the university uses their data.
IT Security Awareness Training 2022
All UMD faculty and staff, including research assistants and graduate assistants, are required to complete IT security awareness training before March 18, 2022.
Winter Break 2021 Service Modifications
DIT offices will be closed Thursday, December 23 through Sunday, January 2. Additional service modifications (including some for finals week) are listed.
Thanksgiving 2021 Service Hours
Division of IT offices will be closed Wednesday through Friday, November 24-26 for the university's Thanksgiving break. Some will also have adjusted hours earlier in the week.
Privacy Policy Virtual Information and Listening Sessions
The University of Maryland is developing a new data privacy policy to establish clear principles and expectations related to the appropriate use of university community members’ data. The IT Council of the University Senate is interested in student, faculty, and staff feedback before finalizing the policy.
