Changes to UMD Password Policies
Beginning on April 11, 2022, the University of Maryland’s Directory password requirements will change.
Scheduled Outage of IT Services April 3
On Sunday, April 3, 2022 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., DIT will be performing an upgrade to the core database servers causing many services to be unavailable.
Scheduled Network Outages for UMD Buildings Spring 2022
Through the Spring 2022 semester, there will be a scheduled outage for each campus building when it will lose network connectivity for 15-20 minutes while building network connections are upgraded.
Spring Break 2022 Service Modifications
DIT offices will be closed March 21-22 for Spring Break. There will also be additional planned outages March 20-25.
Network Aggregation Refresh Project
Overview
The current campus network aggregation switches are at or nearing their vendor end of support. Moreover, all of the current network switches are relatively low-performance, and cannot support current/future network technologies.
Scheduled Outage of IT Services March 20, 2022
On March 20 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., several IT systems will be unavailable while DIT conducts a set of disaster recovery and service resiliency tests.
Student Technology Fee Call for Proposals 2022
The Student IT Advisory Committee (ITAC) invites members of the UMD community, especially students, to submit proposals online before 5 p.m. on March 30.

The 27th Annual Innovations in Teaching and Learning Conference will be in person on May 11, 2022, in the Edward St. John Learning & Teaching Center. It is open to all UMD faculty, graduate and staff instructors.
