Service offerings for several academic technologies are changing before the Fall 2024 semester.
PointSolutions Clickers/Classroom Response System
DIT will no longer centrally fund student licenses for PointSolutions (also known as Clickers or the Classroom Response System) after July 30, 2024. However, the ELMS-Canvas integration will remain available for instructors who request that their students acquire a paid subscription via their website. All faculty were notified by email, which included details about student subscriptions and other options. Some alternatives already available include the ELMS-Canvas quizzes tool, Polling in Zoom for gathering responses during Zoom sessions, and the Panopto quiz tool for engaging participants in instructional videos.
Namecoach
Effective Thursday, August 15, 2024, Namecoach and its associated tools (Namebadge and Namepage) will no longer be available nor supported by DIT. As an alternative, consider adopting the pronunciation feature now available in ELMS-Canvas, which does not include a recording feature. Users were notified by email with information about how to request their Namecoach recordings.

Effective Tuesday, August 20, 2024, VoiceThread (VT) will no longer be available in ELMS-Canvas nor supported by DIT. Users were notified by email with information about how to save copies of their VT items. The ELMS-Canvas integration will remain available for instructors who wish to purchase stand-alone licenses through their school/college business offices.
