UMD faculty, staff and students are able to use the URL shortening service at go.umd.edu. URL shortening services transitioned from Bit.ly to a UMD-hosted service in May 2024. This no-cost service now includes new features such as:
- Converting any destination URL into a go.umd.edu-branded shortened URL
- Creating and managing shortened URLs as a group
- Transferring ownership of links to other individuals, in bulk or as single units
- Viewing link statistics
- Editing URL destinations of existing shortened URLs
- Creating QR codes
