This workshop is targeted at new users of the university's high-performance computing resources, especially those with limited or no HPC experience.
This workshop will introduce participants to the basics of high-performance computing (HPC), and will briefly cover:
- general HPC concepts, terminology, etc.
- accessing the Zaratan cluster
- accessing software installed on the cluster
- transferring files
- submitting jobs on the cluster
Participants should bring their own device (laptop) with a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) and a terminal application (SSH, e.g. PuTTY) to access the cluster via the Open-OnDemand web portal and UNIX/Linux shell; participants without an account on Zaratan will get a temporary account on the cluster.
