Digital Accessibility Advisory Committee (DAAC)

The Digital Accessibility Advisory Committee (DAAC) is charged with developing a Digital Accessibility Plan and a set of recommendations to ensure institutional alignment with the University of Maryland Accessible Technology Policy.

As part of this work, the committee will focus on, but not be limited to, the following areas:

  • Identify strategic goals in key focus areas, including websites, instructional content, multimedia, documents, mobile applications, and other digital assets.
  • Recommend prioritization strategies for accessibility initiatives across core functional domains, such as instruction, web content and development, procurement, and others.
  • Identify and advocate for institutional resources, including tools, training, staffing, funding, and administrative authority structures, necessary for effective implementation.
  • Recommend strategies to raise awareness and promote education on digital accessibility best practices across campus.
