Marcio A. Oliveira

Marcio provides strategic leadership and vision for developing and executing integrated, comprehensive strategies that promote excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, and scholarly activities. His responsibilities span DIT and the Division of Academic Affairs, with direct reporting lines to the Senior Vice President and Provost and the Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He fosters effective, engaging, efficient, and equitable teaching and learning, guiding the institution’s strategic vision, pace, and priorities. His work includes implementing innovative, technology-enhanced pedagogical practices, creating collaborative learning environments, and promoting educational innovation and experiential learning. The leadership of these combined efforts aims to enhance student success and academic excellence at UMD.
