Terrapin Tech Has a New Location

Terrapin Tech has moved from McKeldin Library to Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center Room 0398! The new location is easily accessible from both ESJ’s Campus Drive entrance across from Hornbake Plaza and ESJ’s ground floor McKeldin Mall entrance.

Terrapin Tech is the university’s one-stop shop for IT support, tech purchasing, and device repairs, and it is managed by the Division of Information Technology. ESJ is the perfect place for Terrapin Tech to continue its mission of supporting, educating, and supplying the UMD community with all things tech. This service-centered mission also makes Terrapin Tech a perfect pairing with other organizations sharing the building: DIT’s Academic Technology and Innovation team, the Teaching and Learning Transformation Center, and the Academy for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

Terrapin Tech is a student-staffed organization with a bevy of services ensuring productivity across the university community. Those deciding to shop with Terrapin Tech receive an education discount. To make sure tech purchases are tailored to coursework, Terrapin Tech has also developed computer recommendations with college advisors.

Along with certified on-location diagnosis and computer repairs, Terrapin Tech will provide a loaner device during warranty repairs for current students, staff, and faculty. Terrapin Tech offers walk-in and appointment-based assistance with issues related to DIT-supported operating systems, applications, and services, as well as internet connectivity. Terrapin Tech staff can also provide support for data backups, data migration, virus removal, and a wide range of other technical issues.

Fall 2022 hours, beginning Monday, August 29, 2022, will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
