The Spring 2021 Dell bulk buy period for UMD institutional purchases is available through July 30, 2021. The bulk buy discount is 5 to 7% off on select configurations.  Shopping through UMD’s e-procurement system, Shell Shop, is the recommended method for purchasing devices from this promotion. Alternatively, Dell has created a special Premier website for this bulk purchase timeframe like they have for previous bulk buy promotions; however, the Premier website now requires registration. 
 
All orders MUST be processed by Friday, July 30, 2021. To assure that your eQuote will be processed by the end of the bulk buy, please complete purchases by Friday, July 24, 2021.
 

Purchasing Through Shell Shop (Recommended)

  1. Log into Shell Shop.
  2. Go to the Dell punchout found on the Shell Shop homepage. A pop-up window will appear with UMD’s designated Dell site.
  3. The Dell landing page has been set to UMD’s Standard Configurations for easy access. To filter the Bulk Buy items, update the “All Categories” dropdown to “Spring Bulk Buy 2021.”
  4. All the Bulk Buy items will be identified by the Category name “Spring Bulk Buy 2021.”
  5. Click “Add to Cart” for your desired items.
  6. Accessories are available for various Bulk Buy items. Remember to add them to your cart!
  7. From the Dell cart screen, click “Create Order Requisition” to bring your items into Shell Shop and follow the Shell Shop checkout steps as usual.

Purchasing Through the Dell Premier Site 

Create an Account

If you are not a current Dell Premier user,  send an email to amer_pam_team@dell.com with your @umd.edu email address. Include “request access to UMD Spring 2021 bulk buy (RC1439993)” in your message body, and the Premier account team will quickly register your account and allow you to complete the remainder of the steps below.

Create an eQuote

  1. Go to http://www.dell.com/CollegeParkSpringBulkBuy21. The top portion of the site will display “UMD Spring Bulk Buy 2021.”
  2. Choose items from the “Standard Configurations” list to receive the bulk discount.
  3. Save as an eQuote.
    • Please name the order with your college or department name.
    • Please include contact and shipping information as well as your email address.
    • NOTE: Your eQuote may reflect “estimated tax.” This should be removed during the checkout process.
    • Record your eQuote number(s)

If purchasing equipment via the Dell Master Contract:

  1. Create a KFS requisition:
    1. Go to Requisition to begin the Requisition process.
    2. Under the Vendor tab, select the magnifying glass button next to the Contract Name
      field.
    3. This will take you to the Vendor Contract Lookup page. Under the Vendor Contract
      Number field, enter “12160” to search for the Dell vendor contract.
    4. Select “Return Value” to add the Vendor Contract to the Requisition.
    5. Once the Vendor Contract is selected, all the required Vendor information will
      automatically populate on the Requisition and you may proceed with finalizing the

      Requisition..

  2. Once you receive your purchase order, email it and your eQuote number to our Dell Account Manager Margi Rodriguez (Margaret.Rodriguez@Dell.com).

If purchasing equipment via departmental purchasing card (p-card):

  1. Return to http://www.dell.com/CollegeParkSpringBulkBuy21. 
  2. Click the “Quotes” link in the navigation bar.
  3. Search your eQuote number and click its blue “View Details” button.
  4. Review your saved eQuote and click the green “Checkout” button.
  5. Complete Billing and Shipping Information in accordance with current Procurement guidelines and click the green “Continue Securely” button.
  6. Locate the “Tax Exemption” section on the Review page and make sure “I am tax exempt” is displayed. Click the “Change” link, if not.
  7. Review your order and click the green “Order and Confirm Payment” button to complete your bulk buy order.
