Effective December 1, 2020, no new mail reflectors are being created, and all new requests for an email group/list are being processed as Google Groups or Listserv lists. With limited exceptions, mail reflectors should be transitioned to a Google Group or Listserv list, which offer most mail reflector capabilities along with additional moderation tools. This support article provides information to help understand the different systems’ features. Requests for exceptions will be managed through an automated form on the IT Support website, and email administrators and the IT security team will review exception requests.
Beginning on December 4 at 10 a.m., all email sent from outside the umd.edu domain to reflectors with 30 or more members will be rejected.
