The proposal submission period for Student Technology Fee funds is now open. The student IT Advisory Committee invites members of the UMD community, especially students, to submit proposals online before 5 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019.

Each year, a portion of Student Technology Fee funds is allocated to award projects proposed by University of Maryland community members. Successful proposals should aim at providing strategic enhancements to campus-wide IT services.

Proposals will be reviewed based on the overall impact (the projects must be applicable to all UMD students), significance, innovation, approach, sustainability, and student interest. Please review the proposal guidelines for more detailed information prior to your submission. Examples of successful proposals are available for reference. Awardees will be notified by May 1, 2018.

For this fiscal year, priority will be given to proposals that would contribute to a campus effort to build a UMD app to provide easy access to everything UMD can offer, from viewing your grades to finding the next bus and the nearest place to eat. The idea is to “put the UMD campus in our pocket.” A similar project was developed at one of our peer institutions.
