In addition to the scheduled annual disaster recovery testing on March 18-19, the Division of IT will be performing network testing on other days during Spring Break to test and ensure the redundancy of UMD’s networking resources. None of the tests are expected to result in lengthy service interruptions. However, if problems are discovered, outages could last up to 30 minutes.

  • Monday, March 19, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: During this outage window, anyone using UMD wired or wireless networks in some UMD buildings may experience intermittent loss of connection lasting 1 to 30 minutes. See the list of affected buildings.

  • Monday, March 19, 2 - 6 p.m.: During this outage window, anyone using UMD wired or wireless networks in some UMD buildings may experience intermittent loss of connection lasting 1 to 30 minutes. See the list of affected buildings.

  • Tuesday, March 20, 7 - 11 a.m.: During this outage window, anyone using UMD wired or wireless networks in some UMD buildings may experience intermittent loss of connection lasting 1 to 30 minutes. See the list of affected buildings.

  • Tuesday, March 20, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.: During this outage window, anyone using faculty/staff connections to UMD wired networks may experience intermittent loss of connection lasting 1 to 30 minutes. This will not affect VoIP phones. Get more details.

  • Tuesday, March 20, 3 - 7 p.m.: During this outage window, anyone using UMD wireless networks or isolated network connections may experience intermittent loss of connection lasting 1 to 30 minutes. Get more details.
